Insisting the rebellion and murder charges against members of the Ampatuan clan are totally unrelated, a ranking official of the Department of Justice belied anew on Wednesday persistent speculations that a legal plot is in the works to let the Ampatuans escape punishment for the massacre of at least 57 people last November 23.
